There is a ton of buzz about Direct Buy. Direct Buy is a members only site that claims to save you big big bucks and help you furnish your house. For example, Direct Buy claims to find discount cabinets for you. Unfortunately, there is also quite a bit of negative news on the Internet about Direct Buy. Many on the board feel scammed and misled by Direct Buy's policies. Some have even reporting that the Direct Buy experience is more of a cult. One participant I read had been to a meeting of theirs and saw a showroom and left with a very bad taste in their mouth.

I think the problem is that many of these discount shopping clubs are really not great. Each time I look at one of them I start to wonder if these really justify what you're getting. Here it the problem is that everyone wants a place to buy things at a discount. Everybody feels like if they can get a deal on whatever it is they are shopping for they are smarter than the next guy. This is one of those problems with our consumer based economy that will be very hard to change. Shopping is sort of built into the way we like to spend our time and becomes appointed you boast around the cocktail parties. Outfits like direct by use this knowledge to make money off of you even if they are not giving you something of value in return. This is why you end up with so many direct buy complaints from around the Internet.

And there are a lot of direct buy complaints when I did a quick search on Google. Just try your own search on the term directed by complaints and see what you come up with. This is certainly something you should do before you join any membership club. Check for scam reports ripoff reports online but were you give them your credit card. What you join them is very hard to back out and you'll be one of the people with direct buy complaints.
